Throughout the second quarter of 2024, the top social networking applications on iOS in the Middle East showcased varied performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger had a dynamic download trend, starting with over 104K downloads in early April and peaking at about 120K in mid-June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 9.1M to 9.2M throughout the quarter.

Telegram Messenger saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 70K in early April and climbing to over 102K by the end of June. Revenue also showed a positive trend, peaking at approximately $60.6K in the last week of June. Active users saw minor fluctuations, hovering around 5.9M to 6.2M.

Facebook experienced steady weekly downloads with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, starting at around 66.9K and ending at about 59.1K. Revenue peaked at approximately $29.3K in the last week of June, while the active user base remained stable, around 8.7M to 8.8M.

Threads saw a significant spike in downloads in early June, reaching over 100K, before stabilizing at around 64.7K by the end of the month. Active users grew steadily from 777K in early April to a peak of about 1.2M in early June, before slightly declining to 825K by the end of June.

OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative had a notable increase in both downloads and revenue. Downloads peaked at around 63.1K in mid-June, while revenue saw a significant rise, reaching approximately $37K in the last week of June. Active users also grew, peaking at about 210K in mid-June.
